Big improvement

In size, range, well space, headroom, speed, sleeping, drinking, etc. Go for it.

Personally.....

I prefer the 1989-1994 Hunter 28.I like the cabin layout, the room inside, the beam is wider.I bought an older 28 even though the price difference between a newer 280 and an older 28 is not that much.I have put AC in mine, custom window coverings,Lazy Jack, etc. It is also a awesome sailing boat.It has the 18 yanmar, which is a lot of power.Good luck with whatever you choose.

Hi JOhn, I agree with Paul on the H28...

We purchased a 1989 H28 and sailed her for three years in the Puget Sound. Marvelous boat. Fast, comfy and well equipped for four adults. We added an ST-4000+ auto pilot to ours which made cruising distances a joy. It came in especially handy sailing solo. Terry

H280 great boat

We purchased a used ,(1998) H280 last Sept. We are quite happy with all aspects of this boat which also has the 18HP Yanmar. See our review on the H280 owners review. Only problem we have is getting enough time to get out on the water! Best of luck and smooth sailing. Pete & Crystal Shaw H280~Eastern Sky~
