I have basic sailing skills and just purchases a 1999 Hunter 280 and need to improve my sailing skills based on this new equipment. Any advise or website would be appreciated. Happy salling!

Hello Capt!
We got our 280 in 2006 and have really enjoyed it. This web site has a LOT of information if you do searches in the forums. As for sailing tips; most of the power is from the mainsail and (for us) needs reefing at around 12 knots. She's a relatively light boat and carries the sail plan a bit high so will be somewhat tender. The 280's don't do well downwind but an asymmetrical spinnaker really helps that situation. Also, you really can't carry a bigger headsail than the stock 109%; the rig isn't configured for it.
Best of luck and feel free to post any question you may have.
