I’m trying to get a trailer made for my 28.5 shoal draft keel. I need either hull line measurements or some measurements from an existing trailer. Stanchion placement, height etc. Greatly appreciate any help. Thanks Rich.

There are no trailer specs for a 28.5. Suggest the following be included:
1. Tandem or twin axle trailer
2. Tractor trailer tires to carry the boat
Weight, trailer, gear, etc with a minimum
10% safety factor
3. Four swivel jackets for support of hull on
Each side or four bunk board supports on
each side using a long bunk board
4. Keel tray with keel guides
5. Long extension of ramp launching. You
will need to know the length of the ramp
it will accommodate the launch.
Dimentions needed:
1. Overall length
2. Distance from bottom of keel to the
highest point on top of the boat
3. Total displacement weight
4. Where keel comes down reverent to
overall length
Consider torsion bar axles. Consider hydraulic brakes if launching into water over electric brakes. The overhang should not exceed six feet from back of trailer. Your load cannot exceed 13 feet and six inches from roadbed. You will be required overwidth permits in each state you travel through. Your load cannot be over 26,000
pounds total or you will be required to have a CDL license.

There is a company called Magic Tilt who builds trailers for sailboats. Hunter used them in the past located in Florida. Road king did to make sailboat trailers in Florida but not sure if they still do.
Thanks Dave. I spoke to Adam at MT. It was a dead end but a great tip. He was really responsive. I saw an older thread that someone had purchased one from Triad. Baja in Corona CA builds a great trailer and is close to me in Az but I need hull line detail for him. I may have to hire a couple divers if I can’t find a trailer to replicate.
The builder Baja Trailers in So Cal is asking for “hull Line” detail. I take that to mean keel to top rail, stern to keel, keel span etc. Basically to place the keel pan, stanchions, rough height (adjustable as typical but get it close). Dimensions to get basic fit, axel placement etc.
