Hunter 28.5 Questions....

Hello all,

Recently purchased a '87 Hunter 28.5 and catching up on deferred maintenance. Had a few questions -

• How many keel bolts does the boat have? I see two and one just aft of the mast support, then two sets of two aft of those, and then two sets of one behind those (for a total of nine). These are all 3/4" bolts. I haven't pulled up any more of the cabin sole and wanted to see if I needed to before tightening these bolts.
• None of the four spreaders have boots. What would be the recommended replacement for spreader boots with the B&R rigging on this boat?

I'm sure I'll have more questions but that'll be a start.

I think I have 6 or 8 on my '96 280. I will look tomorrow.

For the spreader boots I would go to the mast manufacturer. Could be Selden. When I wanted cover plates for the mast access holes I found their web site challenging. But I eventually got them.
