I've sailed both and seadaddler has it right..
The first full keeled 260's were called, 260's. Latter on they changed the name to 270. The inboard diesel was an option, I am not sure if they were available with a tiller. Reefing was at about 5 knots of wind higher than the w/b version so they were faster. The lower sole allows for a shower in the head and drop down table. One of the real neat things about the diesel version is that the standard outboard mount was still usable as backup or to store a dinks motor. alan.
