Attention all Hunter 27 owners, sailors, or former owners: I have had a bit of frustration gaining information dealing with my 1981 Hunter 27 in the past. This site and the Sailnet site are so overwhelmed with all Hunter owners that finding specific information can be quite a challenge. For this reason I started a Yahoo group specifically for the classic 27' design. This is the first step but you guys (and lasses) are needed to make it successful...please stop by and join! Then share information so as to be a help to everyone. The archives will be open to anyone and perhaps we can help collect a wealth of information for any need. And don't forget to stop by and share your sailing stories as well!! Pat Join at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hunter27/

Staying here

The time I spend elsewhere would dilute the best h27_75-84 site there is: - We have the dedicated h27 page for focused posts, owner reviews, projects, and pictures. - I have never known of an h27_75-84 question to go without a solid answer here. - We actually share most of the questions and issues about sailing and maintaining our h27's with the other Cherubini Hunters in the forum of that name. - Many other issues are shared across all the lines represented here. - Likewise when we figure something out, it is available to the other models on this site. So I would urge you to join the rest of us in learning how to maximize your use of this site. Then use the yahoo site for things you can't do here - documenting your boat, your maintenance projects, and the good times you and yours spend on it for instance. David Lady Lillie '77 h27

Thanks anyway...

Wow, it seems like maybe I ruffled some feathers. I appreciate the information on Hunter Owners and I am grateful for the site. However, I have found the Watkins owners groups on Yahoo to be very helpful as well and I must have a good hang of this site yet, because I have trouble finding specific information quickly. That being said, different strokes for different folks, so feel free to stop by and check in with the new group (and share you favorite stories). I'm not asking anyone to "defect" or switch allegiances, I'm trying to help myself with information and anyone else who in my boat (no pun intended). Thanks... Pat

Feathers unruffled

You invited us over, and I just explained why I prefer to spend my time here. Good luck with your yahoo venture, David Lady Lillie

I welcome it

The Yahoo list will be of benefit if it gets enough support and I believe the focus may prove to be important. Although this forum is likewise important, the differences between boats limits the value of the information presented. The differences between Cheribini 27s (year) is significant. When dealing with models of different lengths the differences multiply quickly. Although well meaning, answers to questions I have asked have in a few cases demonstrated that the respondent had no knowledge of the 82 Hunter 27. I value any source of information and I welcome, and have joined, Pat's group, and, also, will remain here. Give it a chance to pass sea trials. Andy
