Can any one help with a suggestion to modify the mainsheet control on my Hunter 27. It was originally designed to give good access to the cockpit and cabin, but unfortunately the arrangement and lack of a traveller system to control the mainsail/boom limits the upwind performance. I believe there is a fix which includes a traveller but don't know the details. Thanks if you can help!

Worth the effort

I could not stand the original mainsheet system. What a joke. I built a traveler for mine out of parts from the junk yard for about $100.00 The difference upwind is amazing. It's the best upgrade I've made to the boat.

If you are serious about having good boom control, then you need to have and use a good quality vang along with a mainsheet/traveler system.
