Went to the Newport show today and they had the new 27. I am in the market for a day sailor and was interested to see this boat. Very nice day sailor and I assume it will be a quick boat as it is a Henderson design. I had owned a 426 DS and loved it, and have felt every boat that hunter has introduced from the 356 on are much improved. (had a 320 prior to the 426) The only two "issues" I saw with the boat were that the main sheet is in the center of the cockpit - great for single handing and racing - but for a day cruiser maybe a little in the way, it cuts the cockpit seats in half and the traveler is mounted between the seats. I liked the idea, just thought it might be a turn off for some. The other hurddle is the price - not baddly priced Vs. the competition, but my sence is that at 60K+, people in this market may look to a 30 footer (used) Vs. this boat. Remember I have bought two new Hunters and have always thought they were very competivey priced - but for my day sailor I might look at a 25 - 27 footer with an out board like a 260 based on price alone. All that said, a nice boat and a great addition to the Hunter line.
