I continue to have problems with the water lines on my Hunter 260. The back flow preventer or check valve fails and I cannot keep the line full of water. This causes me to pump the vacuum pump handle several times before I get a water flow. I have changed the valve in the past but it is a pain getting behind the sink bowl and working in a tight space. Has anyone tried to add a small electric pump to the water line so as not to depend on the back flow valve working correctly all the time? If so where did you install the pump and where did you tap into the 12 volt electrical current.

I did.......And

it works well now after a revision to the installation. I mounted the small electric pump next to the outlet point on the water tank and ran 12V power from the circuit breaker panel to the pump by way of the switch which is mounted next to the spicot in the galley. When I first installed it, it would pump water until it pulled the water out of the supply line that runs to the bathroom sink. Then it would start drawing air and the water flow would cease. I found that I needed to locate the pump intake lower than the supply line that runs to the bathroom. It then worked correctly. I have not yet changed out the bathroom pump, but that is a future project.

mast stepping videos?

My husband and I are new 240 owners and are fumbling our way through stepping the mast! Does anyone have or know of any helpful videos (with tricks to make this easier)? Jeanine and Chris

Jim use to own a Hunter 260 and came up with a solution to replace that plastic BS which solved it. Go to the hunter owners and find his email.
