Hunter 26 Steering Config

Hi Everyone,

I hope everybody is doing well and staying healthy.

I have a 94 Hunter 26 that had a wheel installed with the push-pull system, I find that while heading downwind the pressure on the rudder and steering is REALLY heavy. I'd like to replace the push-pull with pull-pull but as I understand it after contacting Edson, the company that produced the linkage, rods and cables is no longer in business and edson's pull-pull setup will not work in a Hunter 26.
I was hoping one of you fine experienced sailors could provide an option to me to improve my system, or rig a pull-pull somehow. I am hoping I am not stuck with it as is until it fails and I have to reinstall the tiller setup.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this is a repeat post of something covered, I'm not really forum savvy.

Advise in pvt message as to phone number, location of boat. Do you know where the boat originated? Probably one of mine.

Oops. I should have read first. Can you take photos inside rear berth cabin ceiling, area behind rear berth area via access panels, wheel and transom where rudder is attached

I've got a new boot, and regardless if I can do anything with the steerage, I'm going to reseat everything rudder related on the transom

Edson temp shut down to pandemic. Now I need photos of the push pull system not cable. What is seen is the system thru rear storage locker beneath which is an open locker to rudder hookup. I need to see photos of the base in rear berth, pedestal interior and photo of pedestal. The 260 was offered with a normal pedestalbcable system st my insistence with me getting away from push pull. 260:thumbsdown: Boat was a winner

My mistake, I was there today and forgot. I got sidetracked by a soft spot I found on the hull, I will get some to you tomorrow for sure.
