Hunter 26 mast/compression pole leak

Hello,
I have a H26, and when it rains/wash down, I get water running down the center pole. It isn’t much water, so I really don’t want to open a can of worms by removing the mast base, unless the job is simple. Has anyone ever had this problem, and if so, what needs to be done to fix it. Also, does anyone have any pictures of the mast base removed?
Thanks,
Jason

Ooooh...

That sounds bad. I actually can't imagine what might be causing it unless water is getting under the mast foot and then running down the bolts that hold the foot in place.. My first suggestion would be to drop the mast, remove the mast foot and put butyl tape under the foot and rebed the foot. See if that fixes it. If that doesn't fix it, I would ask @Crazy Dave Condon for HELP!. He helped design the boat and knows a lot about its idiosyncrasies.

I have a similar issue. Believe it is water getting in where the sheave directs the center board line down into the compression post. From postings over the years it appears the solution is to pull the compression post and sheaves then reseal.

On my list of todo’s for this year.
