When you buy your new halyards be sure to use long eye splices. This will allow you to remove and/or change shackles without having to cut the line. You could also consider having the splice at both ends to allow you to reverse the line as chafe starts to develop.
Mine are 80 ft long for the main halyard, and 77 ft each for the jib and spinnaker. I previously used 3/8 inch diameter but changed this year to 5/16 inch and the sheet stoppers still grab well (your hardware might be different, mine are Spinlock.) For the mainsheet I'm using 3/8 inch diameter by 54 ft long. I can't locate my jibsheet info right now.
