Hunter 25 "Water Ballast"

I am thinking about purchasing a 1993 Hunter 25 with water ballast. The boat has a swing keel, but I want more information about the ballast system. How does it work and how effective is it? When do you use it? Does it slow the boat down? How long does it take to fill and drain? Please contact me at Castlebabb@aol.com

I have a hunter 23.5 water ballast, it fills in 5 minutes or less, does not slow the boat down, I am a lake sailor lake walenpaupak, pa , you have to use it all the time, I just started racing doing ok, very happy with boat
