Hunter 25 -1983 Crystal River, FL
I am new to sailing and have bought a 1983 Hunter 25 to learn. From what I have found on line and the original documentation from the previous owner, everything looks to be factory installed and no modifications. The traveler has two moveabe stops with pins that lock into holes on the track. The starboard one will not release its pin. I think it is a Nicro Fico system and their website says this system and part is not longer available. Does anyone know where there may be some parts to the older Hunter track systems or what would be a good replacement if that is necessary. The track is attached in a slot just aft of the companion way.

Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich, welcome aboard. And congrats on your "new" boat. Your traveler is exactly like mine and in the same place. Fortunately I guess mine is still operating. Years ago I thought that I would have an adjustable one by now. Just too cheap and lazy. I know that Rig-Rite used to have parts. You might want to call them: http://rigrite.com/A-Main/traveller_M.html . Let us know what you find out.

Been there, you might be in luck....

Hi - I just went downt he same path with my hunter 33, my traveler car disintegrated and I tried everywhere to get a replacement. I even went to sailrite, and even they could not find a car. You might be more lucky with the stops than I was with the car, I ended up ordering a complete new system from Schaefer, as it was the only one that could fit the original mounting area, slot that is also just right aft of the companionway

I still have my stops, let me know how wide your track is and you can have them for just the cost of shipping. Photo attached.

Thanks for the offer on the stops. The picture is identical to mine. I will measure the tracks tomorrow and let you know.

I'll measure this weekend and get back to you - happy to help out
I checked with Rig Right and they had a new version for the adjustable stops. They found out over the years the old style would fail when the spring / pin would corrode because there was no way to lubricate it or clean it because it was incased in the block. The new style has access to the spring & pin which allows you to maintain it. I went a head and ordered the new style to avoid a future problem / failure at the wrong time.

Thanks for everyone's help. I sure there will be more questions. :)
