I am planning to order a bimini from the Hunterowners site. I ordered a companionway canvas last year from this site and I was very impressed with the quality of the product and the service I received. I understood from previous posts was that the window on the OEM Hunter biminis for the Hunter 25 was useless in the current position because you could not see the windex. I believe was located at the front of the bimini top. Question: The bimini does not come with a window. However, I can get a custom window installed anywhere on the bimini top for an additional $50. Should I get the extra cost window? Do you think it is worth the extra cost? Is it useful? If so, where should I get it placed on the top? Thanks, Barry

3 things to consider on Bimini placement

Barry, I am not familiar with your boat but ... do consider these things when you place your Bimini.1) unobstructed use of the winches with your longest winch handle 2) unobstructed path forward not hindered by the tie downs 3) your backstay and traveller placement. Now worry about the window and yes you will want one just forward of the helmsman. Ol' Dave

Hubter 25 Bimini Window

The Hunter 25 doesn't have a backstay or will anything be hindered by the bimini placement. Thanks for your response, Barry

between the rear crossbars

Barry, To make the bimini window useful in a new hunter 25, you need to have a window placed between the rear crossbar and the next one forward. The factory placement of the window is pretty much useless. It is easier to lean back from the helmsman seat to look over the back than to lean far enough forward to see through the factory window.
