hUNTER 25.5 RIGGING

I have a 1984 Hunter 25.5 equipped with a Kendal mast. There are three lines threaded through the boom - one controls the outhaul,one controls the topping lift, the third is unattached and I have no clue as to its purpose or connection points. I also have a problem with the main halyard. When attempting raise the sail the line runs freely until 3 ft. from the masthead then appears to bind up. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Don,Examine your sail slugs. If they show a lot of abrasion wear you probably have some gunk in the track. I cleaned mine by tying a small round wire brush(used for cleaning 1/2" female copper sweat fittings) and running it through several times, followed by a rag soaked in McClube.GlennWindWisp26.5 Hunter
