I have a 25.5 hunter with a pop up top for the cabin. I cannot tell how the top, in the up position, is to be locked in place to keep it from falling. Anyone know? Thanks
When you pop the top push it towards the mast. There is an adjustable hook that slides up and down the grove in the mast.Slide the hook up and latch the grove around the pop top and tighten the hook. The hook slide maybe be lost. It looks just like a sail stop with a hook on it.You should see some scratches on the pop top when it is pushed up and hooked on. Look at the top toward the mast.
The PO of our 25.5 lost the slide. We use blocks to hold up the pop-top. Seems to work OK. Hasn't crashed down on us.I've often thought about placing a small cleat on the pop-top in the center of the forward part. Then just use a piece of 1/4 rope to tie the pop-top in the open position. Haven't gotten around to it yet. Too much fun just sailing when I can.
