I am looking to improve my mooring setup for my 2006 Hunter 25. Specifically I am addressing a prior problem where the cleated lines caught and rubbed on the bow eye damaging the gel coat and eating into the hull. My normal thoughts would be bow chocks to better direct lines off the bow but I do not see enough room for installation and backing plates. I also consider the bow eye itself, but felt the backing plate is undersized for significant waves/wind force. The problem I am trying to solve is how the current cleat setup allows her to hunt in heavy winds and waves, resulting in the mooring line catching across the bow and specifically the bow eye, previously causing damage to the boat. I've attached a photo from above of my boat where I'd usually place chocks but do not see space with the anchor locker.
