Hunter 240 wind indicator

Hi all, I plan to attach a standard wind indicator to the mast of my '03 Hunter 240 this weekend. Seems like a straight forward exercise but thought that I'd check to see if anyone has any tips.

if so, I'd use aluminum rivets. Screws can strip and sometimes corrode due to dissimilar metals being in contact.

Your mast up or down at waist height?

If up be sure to use a safety line.

Then that should be a fairly easy task. Pictures of your work. Align it with the front/rear of the mast. You do not want to have to climb the mast to turn the unit around. Be sure to properly secure it (birds have been known to land on the units and bump them out of alignment). Watch that the pointer can swing - not hitting any antennas or other parts sticking up on the top of your mast.

Coupla ways to do it. If the threads are done with a good anti corrode like permatex for aluminum or Tef Gel or stuff like that.. Picture shows an extension bracket on a buddy's mast and on mine, I have a drilled and tapped hole in the backstay bracket.

Never go up the mast of a 240 as you have a mast raising system to take the mast down plus it is unsafe
