I am looking for a diagram of the rudder assembly for a 1987 Hunter 23. I bought my 23 used and the rudder is missing a bolt. Want to know what the original design was. Thanks. ( the rudder has a lot of play in its housing)

Thank you Mac for taking the time to find this diagram Looks like only one bolt holds the keel to its casing with support from the retracting line attached to the tiller. I ask because my rig has a place for a second bolt. The whole rudder is pretty loose under sail especially into the wind.

As an aftermarket mod drill a second hole to insert a pin to keep the rudder down. I prefer the pop up design, I think its saved my rudder a few times. Unlike the diagram above, mine also came with a small hole drilled on the aft edge, to which a line was attached with a snap shackle to haul it up completely out of the water and clip to the aluminum housing. I though this was a standard thing but looking at this diagram I guess not.
