FYI, I moved the traveler back from the cockpit doorway and love it. It is a huge improvement in sail control especially in strong winds. After sailing with it for awhile I see no down side and the crew and passengers like it better. The cockpit doorway makes a great seat. I know some will say it's bad but for controlling the main there is nothing better that to have easy access to the mainsheet, traveler and tiller without crawling over people. I just thought I would share this improvement. (see picture)

Looks like a nice job. My wife would never go for it though, as she would not want to step over the traveler. Plus I'd have to have the vinylized seat cushions redone. I'd probably prefer the convenience of not having to step over it, too, and the improved sail control isn't all that important to me.

With a view like that I'd be ok with the traveler anywhere on the boat. Shoot, you could put it on the bow and I'd find a way to love it. I'd be too busy looking at the scenery anyway.

The unmistakable view from Colter Bay Harbor, Grand Teton N.P. is it not? Jackson Hole, Wy and the Tetons are my favorite place on Earth. I've often wished for an opportunity to sail on Jackson Lake. Drinking beer at the Mangy Moose ain't too shabby, either!
I'm remembering a particular cooold night (-60 F?) in Teton Village on New Year's Eve, 1978, with Mickey Clark and The Blue Norther Band (from "Low-ville" Ky). That place was HOT inside, and jumping!

Nice! That view sends shivers up my spine. I was a little kid on horseback looking at those mountains a long time ago!
