I have a 1993 23.5 and one of my large windows is leaking. It is loose and I need to remove it and reseal it. What procuct id recommended to clean off the old sealant and what is recommended for new sealant. The old sealant is black.

Is it the main window up front or one of the side windows?

I have a similar problem with my front window, although it is not leaking. I have a small crack in the corner and patched it up with a waterproof glue. I called this forum's store and inquired about replacing the window and was referred to a company called Mark Plastics. I haven't done any business with them yet but I'm sure someone here has. They specialize in marine plastics including windows.

Let me know what you end up doing as I may be doing the same pretty soon. Good luck.

It is the large side window. I also have two cracks in the front window but they do not leak much.

Dow Corning 795 adhesive/sealant. You can also use an archictectual grade silicon say for example from Ace Hardware which also works well.

Often you can find information for the boat under boat information for the specfic boat and in addition, you can find other posts by keying in the words most appropiate under the search section.

Thanks for the info on the sealant Dave. I have to replace my port side large window due to someone's bowsprit knocking a hole in it during a raft-up mishap. I imagine I'll have to remove the window in order for it to be used as a template. Guess I'll have to take it somewhere to have a new one made. What material is the window made of and is this the best stuff to use?
