Hunter 23.5 Water Ballast

Does anyone know where I can find information about my water ballast for a 23.5? I don't completely understand how it works, or how/if the bilge pump fits in the whole setup. If there was a cut through diagram or something like that - that would help.

there is a valve on the bottom of your boat that lets water into the tank when you launch the boat. When the tank is full you tighten down the valve shaft wingnut (under the steps on my 240). Tightening the nut insures you don't lose any water in an extreme heel (doubtful this could happen)

When you pull the boat back on the trailer loosen the nut and push down to "open" the valve, this allows the water to drain back to the source.

The bilge pump has nothing to do with it.

The bilge pump on my 23.5 is located under the port settee. I can't imagine when it would ever come on and if it did, the boat would be long gone!
