Hunter 23.5 Cape Cod, Ma.
I need to replace the axle and springs on my original trailer which came with my 1993 Hunter 23.5 I need to replace the SINGLE axle and am NOT converting to dual axles. The trailer is 300 miles from my home so.....I need to know the following measurements if anyone can please help.

The distance (width) from one spring center to the other (measure from the outside of one spring to the inside of the other).

The length of the springs (Measure spring eye to eye centers.)

The distance from the outside of one hub to the outside of the other. (The surface where the wheel makes contact with the hub.)

If anyone has done this could you please send me the name of the company and the model number of the parts ordered.

Thank you to any fellow sailor who can help with the above info.....Mike

PS - There are no trailer builders / welders near the trailer is located....I need to mail order the measurement info to a trailer builder.

Hey Mike,

I do not have the trailer near me but I can get them within the next few days....

BUT I can highly recommend http://www.championtrailers.com/. Their prices are very good, and their service and knowdge of trailers is GREAT.

Hopefully Ill get to the trailer in the next 2 days.... Send me a message if time goes by too long.

Yes that is the same as my trailer. I really appreciate your help and anxiously await the measurements as I will be ordering the parts through Champion Trailer.

Spring center to center = 71"
Spring length mounting bolt to mounting bolt = 25 1/4 "
Hub to hub length = 84"
There is also a 4" offset in height between the center of axle and center of wheel hub

This is measured from my trailer for my '93 23.5, same as the one in the pic posted above.

Good luck w/ repair.

When you start figuring parts, see what the cost is and then determine if the parts are going to be the same or near that of a new axle with brakes. If it is the brakes, you can pujrchase the parts or even the new hubs thru west marine. However, if you are not for sure, you may want to deal with a local trailer repair facility because he could very well help you. The cost of freight of a new axle can also be expensive.

If you have any questions, then respond. If anyone wants a new trailer, Road King/sailors trailers has the deminsions and the contact person for them is Ron Frisosky at 941-913-3890. He knows trailers.

Thanks Scott, you saved me a couple of hours of going to measure my trailer! This forum is a real good place. I am glad I found it.
