I currently have a hunter 23.5 and am thinking I might want
to move up to a 26 or 260.
does anyone have a 26 or a 260 somewhere around south
Mississippi that they would let me look at to see how much differance there is?

Hey James!
We just made the move from a 23.5 to a 26... the difference is HUGE... as far as room and accommodations. I cant speak to sailing/ launching that yet as we are doing some refitting on the boat, but hope to launch and shakedown in November. I am in Birmingham, (not south miss.) but if you get up this way and want to check it out, lemme know. I can tell you that while heavier, the 26 trailers BETTER than my 23.5 did imho. Good luck, and I would say go for it!

Best,

Sanford

We moved up from a 2000 240 to a 2004 260 about 3yrs ago and the difference in it's stability and accommodations(among many things) were wonderful improvements. I've added many refinements since and it's now well rigged for coastal cruising in comfort. Here's a pic of both boats side by side.
Good luck in your search.

To Sanford . . .

Greetings Sanford! We're in Birmingham too and keep our boat in Guntersville. Do you plan to keep your boat in a slip or trailer to your destination(s)?

if you don't mind will you shoot me your contact information
through a private email?
We were kind of planning on coming up that way to camp at Oak Mountain within the next month or two.
maybe we could come look at the boat while we were there.

thanks for the replies.

Re: To Sanford . . .

HEY Clark! We keep her on a trailer at the house... We do most of our sailing down on the coast and will be doing a little bit at Lake Martin. We tried Guntersville but with the massive grass problem where we were there and the staining it left on the hull, made us consider the coast a better place to sail and its only 2 more hors for us. Glad to know another sailor in B'ham though!!!

Hey Jan,

We want to try Lanier sometime! I'm guessing water will not be a problem there now...

Greece was GREAT!
