Lowering the centerboard
On the starboard side of the cabin top there's a heavy line that comes from the base of the mast, through the deck orgainzer (turning blocks) back towards the cockpit. It should have one or two blocks (pullies) in it to give some mechanical advantage. It terminates in a V-shaped jam cleat (not the two clutches that have levers). Once in deep enough water, you just pull the line out of the cleat and lower it gently down as far as it goes. If you lower it _slightly_ less than gently, you'll hear and feel a reassuring clunk as it goes down as far as it goes.It just lifts up by hand (no winching). It's not very heavy. When you launch, put the centerboard down sooner rather than later if you need to motor and steer around a marina. With the board down, the boat will spin on a dime. Without it, it's like a dog on a skating rink, especially on a windy day.I have no answer about the pintle without looking at a boat to remind myself what it looks like. There are some West Marine stores in the Dallas area (Garland and Lake Worth) where you might find proper parts.Rick
