Hi, My Hunter 23.5 lists to starboard when sitting in a slip. I am not sure why, but I suspect it is due to the engine, gas tank and battery all being on the starboard side. I was thinking of moving the battery to the port side under the interior cushion about mid ship. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

For what its worth, my 23.5 lists to starboard for just the same reason. (When I sit my big behind to port, we list a bit to port.) Moving the battery might help but quite a hassle to reroute the wiring. Instead, i keep my spare 2.5 gallon water jug to port which does not offset the list entirely but does help. When in the slip or at anchor, detaching the mainsheet from the cockpit deck and moving it to the port stanchion base not only helps correct the starboard imbalance but also clears the companionway access to the cabin.

Kind regards

Put more beer in the cooler?

Mine does the same. Only an inch or so. I don't worry about it.

I had a similar problem on my H-26. Part of the problem was solved when I simply removed some of my un-needed junk off the boat. Still, I listed an inch or so starboard. Since I was in a slip, I was getting marine growth on a small 1/4" strip of my waterline boot stripe. I added some counter-ballast to port to level it out. If it weren't for the marine growth, I'd left it alone. BrianW
