Thanks for the detailed write up. It’s always nice to read about someone else’s experiences in a place that you yourself have been. As you found out , early spring can be challenging for small boats due to the winds. I have taken my MacGregor 25 down there 4 times in the last 10 years, anywhere from the end of January to the beginning of May, and my experiences ranged from beautiful sailing to getting stuck in one place for a week. The next time I go, I will try for early to mid May. Getting into June it gets hot and buggy, not to mention more people too!
How much in advance did you make reservations at Bahia Honda?

I made reservations about a month in advance. There were openings all week. the marina said that time of year its mostly loopers coming through and there is usually an opening, especially when talking about trailer parking.
