Hello
We just bought a Hunter 23.5 from 1994, is in pretty good shape. We want to put it on a mooring bouy, but our lake water depth is only 5 feet at that location. We are thinking of mooring it with the ballast tank full (1000 pounds of water), but with the centerboard up. Anybody has experience with that? Would the boat be stable enough in a storm with the ballast tank full and the centerboard up? Thank you.

Should be fine. Many people slip or moor with the board up with the belief that this will produce less wear and tear on the bushing for the centerboard. In other words, leaving the board down and letting it wiggle side to side a thousand times a day is not great. :poop:

Your centerboard does not have an appreciable amount of ballast in it and does not contribute much to the righting moment of your boat. The ballast in your tank is doing that work for you.
