Hunter 23, 1985: Water problem insight cabin

My boat is during sailing season on a moorring. I am a weekend sailor and every weekend there is quite a substantial amount of water in my cabin. It takes some time to shuffle the water out. After a week the water level inside the cabin is he same again. The water itself tastes a little bit salty, but not as much as the seawater. I have no idea, how this can happen. I checked the cabin during a rainy day and it seems to be water tight. I wonder, if there is a problem with my centerboard and how it is attached to the bottom of the boat. There are big srews inside the cabin on the floor. I am not sure what they are for. I wonder, if somebody has a copy of the boat plan to get a better understanding of the boat structure?ThanksHerb

Water

I have a '86H23 and have noticed water as well. Points of water intrusion on my boat on the slip or trailer have been; the sliding hatch dripping in rain; stanchion screw leaks; forward hatch screw leaks; and water from the cockpit seat entering the bilge (I installed drains via thru hulls from gutter, overboard); around the "windows"...the carpet interior has a tendency to hide wicking of water from above. As far as water from the keel bolts, I have suspected this as well, but once my boat and I are in the water a day or two I theorize my dry bilge is due to my concientious attention and swelling of any material between keel and hull. When in the slip I have made a habit of keeping a 6'x8' tarp over the boom and lashed to the lifelines to keep much of the Florida afternoon downpours out. Just some thoughts.
