In the process of raising the mast. Build the tripod system with 3/4 electrical pipe that somebody mentionned on this site. So far great. I just want to make sure the jib halyard is strong enough to raise this mast. It seems pretty heavy. Thanx
New 5/16-inch Sta-Set double-braid has a breaking strength of 3,000 lb but it decreases as the line ages. BTW, the weight of the mast is nothing compared to the load in the jib halyard when you tension the mainsheet to fasten the forestay turnbuckle. Happy mast raising. Peter H23 "Raven"
