I am in the process of replacing my main sail for my hunter 22, mfg, 1981 and trying to decide between a 4.0, 4.4 or 5.0 oz sail cloth. I usually single handle, sail in light or moderate breeze in the Toms River or Barengat bay area. I do not race. Any comments or input. My current sails are really soft and limp and I love them because they are so easy to handle, but I am told that they need repair and near the end of the their life. Thanks Jim

There are a number of sailmakers around. I know there are several in your region, but I don't remember specifics. Sailnet.com offers AirForce Sails. They have a data base that includes your boat. Check it out for pricing and the like. Then, call and talk to the sailmaker.

Good Place

Hey Jim, There is a sail maker on Route 35 North (right before the Rt. 9 bridge) In South Amboy. Eggers Sails (732) 721-4667. They have been there for years and the staff is very nice. I have gone to them with a lot of questions about my 82' H22 and they are a big help. They will not steer you wrong. Chris
