I have recently purchased a fixed keel Hunter 22. I have noticed that the reviews on this site are mostly for swing keel Hunnter 22's. Does anyone know if the keel bolts on a 22 are stainless steel? I plan to keep the boat in a slip year round. I understand that it is not unusual for some water to get past the keel into the well under the cabin table. Do I need to be concerned about potential damage from water freezing in the well under the cabin table if water does get into it? Thanks for any information on the 22. Bud

great boat

Good to hear from a fellow fixed keel sailor. I have a 1983 with the fixed keel, it is great. I installed a bilge pump under the table in the shallow bilge and very rarely have to activate it. I also keep it in the water at all times. I do not have to worry about the water freezing but like I said the bilge is always dry. Enjoy the boat I take my family out every weekend all year around and it is great.

Dry as can be

Bought my 1984 H22 this year. Its been in the water in a slip since May and has been bone dry. No indication of water ever finding its way into the bilge. If you need anymore info I have most of the orginal paperwork (info, diagrams) that came with the boat whenit was new. She sails great. Took on a Catalina 30 today and blew her away in 10 knot winds. redasilva15@yahoo.com
