I'm looking for a Hunter 22 (2011 or newer) or a Hunter 216 owner in the Northern Michigan area. We would are interesting in purchasing a 2012 Hunter 22 and would like to see the boat up close prior to making the purchase. Any owners out there close to Harbor Springs, MI?

for what it is worth, buy the Hunter 22 current model which is fiberglass. Big difference as it is newer style and of course fiberglass.
Yes, that is what I have read. It would appear the Hunter had some issues with the composite on some of their boats. The reason I asked about the 216 is because it has a very similar deck and hull. I am VERY interested in purchasing the Hunter 22, but would like to see one up close before I lay down $18k - $20k for a new boat. I am willing to travel 3 or 4 hours to see the boat, if any Hunter 216 or 22 owners are willing to spend an hour showing me their pride and joy. I haven't been able to find a dealer close to me that has one in stock.

Hey Chuck, a couple of points to consider:
You can get a good 216 for a lot less than a new 22. I looked at a number of 216s before buying mine, all 2004-2010 vintage, and cracking wasn't a problem.
A big plus for me was that the 216 is almost a 1000 lbs lighter than a 22- the 22 has more sail area. That was a critical difference because the 216 tows on a vehicle with a 2000lb capacity-like a minivan. for the 22 you need a full size van or a larger SUV.
