Hunter 22 O/B limits

Does anyone know the maximum hp outboard for a Hunter 22?? I have an old Evinrude 9.5hp short shaft. Will this work on this boat?? Thanks in advance Mark

Hi, We have an 86 23.5 and I just talked to Greg at Hunter about a week ago and he said that ours was rated for an 8 hp two stroke. He said more power was fine but would want to watch the weight of it. If you wanted to ask them go to their web site (Search under Hunter Marine) and they have a spot where you can e-mail them.
