Hunter 22 centerboard, O/B power

Greetings!We are looking for either centerboard or centerboard specs for Hunter 22. Also, looking at outboards for this boat. Would a 6HP 4stroke be adequate?We'd appreciate any information you can give us.Thanks, Sheryl

6hp is ok

I have a 6hp two-stroke (17 years old) which is adequate so I would think your four-stroke would do the job nicely; you can get a replacement centerboard from Foss Foam in Florida for about $800

I have a 6hp on my 23' kells

It pushes it right along. Plenty of power. we have the battery charging unit on it which is a great option along with the long shaft.

Use a 5HP long

Sheryl;I have a 22 and just downgradded from a 7.7 merc to a 5 merk longshaft. Saved about 1/2 the weight and works well. Re the board, need to be more specific about what specs you want...Seth

Rick, my apologies, I fergot True Hull speed is just that. I am still to used to HCats and this Hunter22 I am getting will be my 2nd Cruiser Monohull, so I am still learning. I did notice comeing through The East Pass one day that my SanJuan24 under power was sluggish, but as soon as I passed SandCrab Island it picked back up. I thought was the Outgoing Tide that slowed me up a bit. I learn something new each day, and this is good.I Thank You.
