I think I have finally solved the horrible maintenance issues I had been having with my hull. I was spending more time cleaning black heel marks, stains from leaves, etc. from the hull, foredeck and cockpit than I was sailing! For the hull, I simply waxed it with a good car wax. This seemed to seal the plastic, my hull looks fabulous, obviously goes faster as it slips through the water more easily ;-), and I have done practically nothing to maintain the hull since. Wonderful!I didn't think slippery wax on the foredeck/cockpit was a good idea. I found a non-slip wax from West Marine called Woody Wax. Cost $31/16 oz! I got it anyway figuring if it worked, 16 oz ought to last a season. I also got a non-slip deck wash with Teflon from West Marine.I cleaned the foredeck. I scrubbed (with a power buffer) the cockpit with Comet...then an old can of Ajax when I ran out of Comet. Forget the little scratches caused by the cleansers...this is a non-slip feature! I then spread Woody wax. Super easy to apply. Since then, I've use the deck cleaner a couple times. This stuff really works! My cockpit got really messed when I took the boat to an RV dealer to have them work on the keel. Ug...mechanics greasy boots all over my cockpit. A little deck wash and some elbow grease and it was all gone!I am now proud of my boat and it looks sharp.
