mast crutch
Barry I made my crutch from a length of pipe. I used the female part of a chain length fence gate hinge to attach to stern of the boat. I inserted pvc pipe in each hinge to insulate the galvanized material from the stainless. I mounted a bow roller to the top. Also add an eye just above the deck level and attach 2 lines. These lines go to the stern cleats. This keeps the suport from turning while rolling the mast forward and back. The mast support is 6'3 from bottom to top of roller. The pipe came from an old t.v. antenna mast, the brackets for the roller came from an old hand edger. I think I spent 15 dollars building this. Allen
