What should i expect when replacing Keel Bolts that are decayed and what is the best way to fix this.

Is it leaking from the keel bolts? If not, clean the bolts.
To replace keel bolts, you will have to first drop the keel from the hull, remove all the old caulk, remove the bolt which is a bare, reapply liberally with 5200, put keel back on and let sit for 7 days for 5200 to cure and so on. It will be costly. How about a photo of the keel bolts.

The rods are threaded into the cast iron keel but not sure if the keel of the 18,5 was lead or cast iron. Either way, if there is a leak coming thru the keel bolts, the boat has to be lifted off the keel with a lift and I certainly do not think anyone will advise you to try that yourself mickey mousing the hull off the keel..
What ever you do be very careful. You cannot replace life.
If using any lift, MAKE SURE THAT THE STRAPS ARE TIED TO ONE ANOTHER ON EACH SIDE SO THEY WILL NOT SLIP OFF THE HULL.
In addition to boat stands, CHAIN THE STANDS TOGETHER FROM SIDE TO SIDE SO THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF THOSE STANDS KICKING OUT. I learned the hard way but the boat was so old it was not worth repairing and headed to junk yard. Thankfully, I was not hurt.
