In a few weeks, more details
I have only been out once so will be glad to give you more of a review once we have a bit more experience. We upgraded from a 16 foot Luger Leeward. Here are some bullets on a single day out:Very fast, very responsive, a little 'tippy' (wife's term, describes it well) but I think experience will help that. Lots of room/open seating area for a day sailer. Very easy to rig at the ramp.Overall we are very happy with the 170.Riggng is first class. The clevis pins use snap rings, difficult to rig, we switched them to the 'safety pin' clips. The center board is too heavy for the pulley system. I have improved this to a 6 purchase system and it works very well now.The rudder is difficult to pull down, it floats! I hope I can get the hang of it.Am used to a steel rudder which needed to be pulled up!Needs a tiller tender. Looking at the Davis unit.We want to improve the storage area cover. Find the canvas inconvenient. This one is still on the drawing board. That's it for now!
