Hunter 146 Mainsheet Cleat Release

Just picked up a little 146 and took it out over the weekend.

One thing that I noticed and bothers me is that the mainsheet jam cleat is setup to release when pulled down.. As the cleat is near the floor this can be a bit hairy in a gust since this is near the floor.

Am I wrong here? It seems to me that every other mainsheet cleat I've seen releases when pulled up.

Can this cleat be flipped on the stock Harken setup??

That was the first thing that I did when I got my boat. Easily done, unbolt it, flip it and rebolt, a 5-10 minute job. Here is the link to the Harken catalogue (see page 54,) it shows the cam cleat both ways on the bracket.

I've attached a photo of the block and swivel base that came that came with my H15 (first & second photos). You may have a slightly different set up on the H146 (third photo) where the cam cleat is mounted on a metal 'tongue' but the drill is still the same.
