Hunkering down

Have a major cold front coming through. Forecast is for 40 knots, and 3 to 5 foot seas. The barometer is now dropping like a rock. Have a good protected anchorage located, and going to just hunker down and ride this one out. Wind from the NW means a following sea, and a nasty ride. I don't really want to do that, and it would scare the hell out of Lois. And since we are not in a hurry to get where we are heading, no sense in getting all beat up. Also going to get cold. Can also use the time to try and get something done with the fuel system. Tony, the major difference between this one and your boat, is the fuel pumps are not out in the open. Hidden under the starboard setee, between the fuel tank and a bulkhead. Will be fun getting in there.

Please include lat and long with your postings. If we can't be there we can at least follow along on the charts. Also it might help if you turn up missing to know your last location.Too much wind there and we are predicted to have light and varible on Wheeler lake on Saturday. Too bad we can't both have 15 knots coming over the beam.Stay warm

I drive across the Key bridge a couple times a day and was wondering about you. Stopped looking for boats and started looking for surfers on the Patapsco. It was rough out there.

Didnt expect it to be otherwise. As for your fuel system.....who'd-a-thought?Maybe someday we will get too old or too sickly to sail and our relationship with our boat will still be so strong that we still feel obligated to "upgrade". No tellin what we might come up with. Seems that some of the previous owners had the time to tinker and got a little carried away. In the future, we will become them. She is back in Kemah and I'm still working in Ingleside. She came down for a week long visit a few weeks ago. It was nice to get off this Rig at night. She will be back down here again in a week or so.The only difference between this place and jail is that we wear blue jumpsuits instead of orange.
