The Catalina 22 sure does if the cable is left tight with the keel down. The pitch of the hum varies as to the speed through the water. Some like to hear it and some don't.

All you have to do is unwind the winch just enough to take the tension off and then there is no hum.

All swing keell boats with cable "hums" when sailing unless you release all of the tension on the cable. You can vary the pitch of the "hum", high pitch with the cable tight and less "hum" and at a lower pitch when eased. Also more "hum" the faster you sail. Actually, I kind of enjoy it.

swing keel vs lift keel?

Thanks for the responses. I am a bit confused. I own an old boat built by McGruer & Clark (Owen Sound) supposedly called a Georgian but built on a Lightning 19' hull. It has a massive keel housing which holds something very heavy inside. I have not had the contents out of the housing on the dry but I suspect it is not a swing keel in the usual sense of the word but rather a lift keel which is lowered down to a stop. Does that make any sense. Regardless, there is no hum. For me the pleasure of sailing is the absence of constant noise, and the other advantage of a movable keel is the ability to fine tune the boat under sail. The only other swing keel manufacturer which addresses the issue of cable hum if memory serves right is General Boats with their Rhodes 22.

More comments would be very welcome.

My O'Day 23 with a swing centerboard would hum when it approached hull speed. Actually, it was kind of sweet, Meant you were in the groove, and all was right with the world!
