I'm mounting two transducers on my 22. My plan is to mount them in the V-berth area just aft of the water tank on either side of the center line.Does anyone know the hull thickness at these points? The transducers can handle up to 3/4 of an inch.

I think you will find

That in that area, the hull thickness is from 1/4" to 1/2" thick. Please remember I am speaking of the 22-25' O'Day's with CB's. My guess is that is is still in that range. To be sure, drill a 1/8th" pilot hole to see what is there. Repairing a 1/8th" hole is much easier than a 2" hole in the hull. I think you can be confident that it will be about 3/8" think. Make sure you put it on a flat surface. If you try to put it on the centerline, you will not get it sealed properly. I think you are making a good choice in your placement. r.w.landau

Thanks

Thanks for your input. It's a new boat to me and drilling holes in it's hull keeps me up at night. The weather this week is looking good,I should have them in by Wed.

Success

It was alot easier once I got over the drilling the hole thing. I mounted them about 6" either side of the centerline, on a nice flat area. The hull was about 3/8" at this point so it was no problem. Thanks again for your info.
