We,ve been checking out used boats, hoping to move up in size. So we have found a 302 that,s sitting on a craddel that doesn,t fit the boat. There are also 2 stands supporting the rear of the boat. The starbd stand has the hull pushed in probably an inch or so, with your eyeball. My question is, does this hurt the boat, will it return to normal, will it weaken ???? We really like this boat, but whats your best guess? Thanks, Ron

Survey

Get a survey done! I would be very leary of a hull flex of that amount. The survey will tell if the hull is good or if a major problem is present. Good luck!

Don is right, get a survey before purchase!

The current owner should get at least a few poppits to add support to the boat. The poppits should go under the bulkheads to add proper support. A previous yard did something similar to me (they stuck a poppit in the wrong spot) causing a similar deformation until I placed an extra one in the right spot. The deformation came right out once the weight was removed. Luckily for me, I was okay. Once you add the extra poppits check to see if the deformation comes out and if there is any cracking inside or outside around the point. I agree with Don, get a survey to make sure that the boat is in good condition!
