Planning to paint (1st time) the hull of my '77 O'D 20. Plan to use single part enamel (white). Any recommendations as to brands? Any tips that will help make this a positive improvement? Hull has 3 plastic tape boot stripes, which are proving difficult to remove. Tape is very brittle and comes off in small pieces. Heat gun was only a small help. Any suggestions. Thanks.

for the boot tape, if you're painting anyways.sand it down to the gel coat. I know you want to use a 1 part epoxy paint, but it doesn't last as long as a 2 part paint. If you are going to use a 1 part paint, both Interlux's Brightside and Petit's Easypoxy are decent paints. Follow the directions and roll and tip it.....If you decide to go with a 2 part epoxy, Interlux's Perfection is GREAT!!! I did a 18 ft. Yacht Club Launch 3 seasons ago, and it still looks brand new.
