HI-
First of all, thank you for all of your responses to my posting regarding the birthday etc for a Hunter 33. What would we do w/o the internet?

This past wknd while (again!) riding my bike thru the yard I copied down the hull number. Was wondering if anyone could give me more info now that I have the exact number?

HUN60007M77F - 33
What does the 6 mean?
Does the first 7 mean its the 7th hull?
What does the M mean?
I assume 77 means 1977 (right?)
What does the F mean?
I assume the 33 means 33 feet.

Thanks for the help last week and I look forward to hearing from all of you!

Thanks,
KingFish:dance:

How to Read the Hull ID Number (HIN)

These two tables will help you determine the model and year of your boat. There was no Federal requirement for Hull Identification Numbers (HIN) prior to 1973. All boats built during and after 1973 will/should have a HIN placed on the upper Starboard side of the transom.
The format after 1980

mmmhssssddyy
Where:

mmm = Manufacturer US Identification Code
h = Model description (see Production Years - HIN Designation.)
ssss = Hull Serial Number
dd = Date of Manufacture -
Where A to L = Month starting with January and then
the last digit of the year.
yy = Model Year
Example:

mmmhssssddyy - Example: MACX0854A898
MAC X0854 A8 98
MAC, 26X, Serial number 0854, manufactured in Jan, 1998, Model Year 1998
Prior to 1980 the 9th digit was a M followed by a the year and month.
