Hull#Location

Maybe I bought a nice little O'Day 22, 1978 at an Estate Sale. The reason I say 'maybe' is yesterday when I received the Title it was for a JENSENMAR22, 1978. I've been online trying to sort it out

Hull Number

Look for your hull number just under the rudder down close to the water line.Good luck with your wiring...you may want to rip everything our and rewire it. That's what I ended up doing with mine.

Rudy -Obviously, you'd like to know what you have. Only makes sense. That said - I wouldn't stress it. Enjoy your boat whomever made it.Without know what boat you have, its hard to tell you whats in the dead space. check that hull id and let us know.Electrical can be a pain to troubleshoot. I wound up ripping out the old panel and building my own. I think I saved a lot of heartache that way.Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Look and Compare!

The number should be on the transom as stated, behind the rudder. Thats where mine is. I also have a 22 1978. Look close too, because it's just stamped in there. If someone painted over it a few times it might be hard or impossible to see. Does the boat say O'day anywhere on it? Check the pictures here and elsewhere on the net and see if the boats look the same. There's a boat layout line drawing, that will pretty much tell you if it's the Oday.I'm attaching a related link, which will take you to a site that will easily explain how to identify the boat you have. Jensenmar might be right for an Oday. Jensen Marine sticks out in my mind for some reason, but I'm certain someone else can give you more information on that.Good luck!Josh

On the Transom

Its on the transom and its hard to seeI know from an article Oday was owned by BangorPunta Marine or close to it.I have the article still if your interested.The Wiring well its basic and my battery well the original was in the starboard locker (79O22). I rewired my entire boat with a Two battery bank for additonal equipment and electric starting Outboard
