I got a couple of gouges in my hull from laying up against the wood piles at the end of my slip. Worst case is maybe 2" long x 1/2" wide x 1/4" deep. I've never done any fiberglass repair and I'm not familiar with the products so I'm looking for some advice. I want to make sure I get a good bond before I wax over the repair. Are there temperature limitations? cure periods before wax? I assume the existing finish is the original which I have waxed every spring.

Mike, you'll probably need to use a filler first, then apply gel coat over it to finish it off. Take a look at the cans of each and I think you'll find that the ambient temp must be above 55* to use any of this stuff. Looks like a Spring project to me. S/V Intrepid '83 H34 #113
