hull cracks

Hello Everyone,

We purchased a 2009 Hunter 31 a year ago. Last weekend when I was cleaning/waxing hull I noted several cracks in the gel coat. 2 across the bow above the waterline. Then 2 port side directly under decorative strip above boot stripe. The dealer has already scheduled to make repairs.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? The Chicago winters can be pretty cold. Not sure if this had something to do with it. We had a 20y/o Hunter and never had an issue with the hull.

We purchased a new 2007 H31 in 2009 - at the end of the season when we were putting on the winter wax our hand went through a curved area near the anchor locker due to a void in the gel coat. We had also experienced a similar void in the bow which subsequently presented a pretty good sized hole. Hunter and our dealer have been very responsive on the repair. Just to be on the safe side and before the summer splash we decided to have a structural survey done to see if there might be any more weak spots. Our surveyor found about 12 on the deck and a few in the hull area. Photos and the survey were sent to our dealer and emails followed with Hunter. We're pleased to say that all questionable areas are currently being repaired under the warranty. Both our dealer and Hunter have been very good about the whole thing. Looking forward to a mid-May launch.
